Fiber Disc Filter
The OYDF Fiber Disc Filter, also known as a cloth filter or fiber disc filter, is a filtration technology used in advanced wastewater treatment processes to remove suspended solids (SS). When combined with chemical agents, it can also remove phosphorus, turbidity, COD, and other pollutants. The system features a simple structure, easy operation and maintenance, small footprint, and low energy consumption. This type of equipment has been widely used in newly constructed urban wastewater treatment plants, wastewater treatment plant upgrades, and water reuse projects.
Working Principle:
The OYDF Fiber Disc Filter consists of a central effluent drum, filter discs, a rotary sealing device, an elastic cloth backwashing system, and an automated control system. The filter discs are fixed around the central drum and are connected to it via communication holes. Raw water enters through the inlet and flows into the system through the stabilization trough, where it comes into contact with the discs. The discs are covered with fiber cloth made from a new nano memory fiber material, with filtration pores smaller than 10μm. After efficient filtration, the water is discharged through the hollow central effluent shaft.
During filtration, the drum remains stationary. As filtration progresses, impurities accumulate on the cloth, causing the water level inside the filter to rise, reducing the flow through the cloth. When impurities reach a certain level and the water level reaches a preset value, the system activates the backwashing system. Clean water is drawn in the reverse direction through the cloth, removing the accumulated impurities. The process of backwashing occurs without stopping filtration, enabling simultaneous filtration and backwashing, thus greatly improving efficiency.
Technical Features:
1. Stable and reliable treatment performance: The filter cloth has pores smaller than 10μm and is made of thick fiber material. The microfiber cloth is woven using a twill weaving process and is highly resistant to impact. The fibers on the surface do not easily fall off, and there is no fiber shedding, cloth damage, or clogging during backwashing or dirt extraction. It effectively filters smaller particles.
2. Small footprint: Unlike traditional flat filters, the OYDF filter uses a vertical disc design, where the entire side of the disc serves as an effective filtration surface. This design allows for multiple times the filtration area within a limited space, significantly improving filtration efficiency.
3. Low head loss: The unique design of the filter results in an internal head loss of only 0.2-0.3 meters, eliminating the need for water pumping.
4. Cost-effective engineering investment: The filter’s small size and simple internal structure lower production costs, and installation costs are minimal. Compared to sand filters and other types of filters, total engineering investment is reduced by more than 30%.
5. High backwashing efficiency, low water consumption, and short cycle: The modular standard design allows for backwash water usage that is only 1/2 to 1/3 that of traditional sand filters, and backwashing can be performed without shutting down the system.
6. Easy construction, installation, operation, and management: The system operates fully automatically, with filtration and backwashing controlled by a program. It requires no multiple protective measures, and daily operation does not require dedicated personnel.
